Mission Statement

Our purpose is to serve the Aboriginal community through traditional and contemporary health care relative to mind, body and spirit to foster healthy Aboriginal people and communities.

Services

Wassay-Gezhig Na-Nahn-Dah-We-Igamig acts as a first point of contact with the health care system providing primary health care, which encompasses;

  • prevention, education, promotion, cure, support and rehabilitative services
  • provision of a range of professional services;
  • promotion of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being;
  • consideration of factors that influence health (health determinants); and
  • design and delivery of primary health care services in conjunction with the public, and community service providers.

The Health Access Centre's services are based on a wholistic model of care, and promotes integration of traditional Aboriginal perspectives and healing methods with western medicine. Centre staff are committed to working as a team in implementing the wholistic care model.
