Mission Statement
Our purpose is to serve the Anishinaabe community through traditional and contemporary health care relative to mind, body and spirit – to foster healthy Anishinaabe people and communities.
Who We Are
Waasegiizhig was a healer who lived in this area many years ago. His spirit lives on at Ash Rapids which is between Lake of the Woods and Shoal Lake, a short distance southwest of the Centre’s head office location. Nanaandawe’iyewigamig means “place of healing”.
What We Do
Waasegiizhig Nanaandawe’iyewigamig offers primary health care and preventative services combining traditional and contemporary approaches to health and healing. Complementary programs include a residential healing program and hostel accommodation for people accessing hospital services in Kenora.
We provide services in the following areas:
